We collect the email address you sign up with, to identify your account and let you log in. It is not encrypted — we can see it, the same way any service you log into can see the email you used. We use it to operate your account and, only if you explicitly opt in during signup, to occasionally send you updates about Ferrum Arms products. That checkbox is unchecked by default. You can ask us to stop at any time by contacting us (below), and opting out never affects your ability to use your account.
Everything about what you actually own — make, model, serial numbers, NFA control numbers, storage locations, notes, photos, values — is encrypted in your browser before it is ever sent to us, using a key derived from your password. We do not have that key. We cannot read your collection data, we do not use it for marketing, and we could not hand it over in readable form even if legally compelled to, because we do not possess the means to decrypt it. This is a real technical property of how the app is built, not a policy we could quietly change.
Beyond your email: when your account was created, when you last modified an item, and how many items you have (as an encrypted-blob count — we don’t know what they are). That’s the complete list. We do not build profiles of what firearms or other items anyone owns.
Your data is stored with Supabase, our database provider. A small number of people at Ferrum Arms can see account emails and usage metadata (never decrypted collection contents) for the purpose of running the product and, only for accounts that opted in, sending marketing email.
Contact us and we will delete your account and all associated data. Because your collection is encrypted with a key we never had, there is nothing left over for us to retain in readable form even before deletion.
